Cauliflower Seed Blend About the Varieties
Purple of Sicily: This Italian heirloom produces brilliant purple heads with a sweet, nutty flavor. Rich in antioxidants, especially anthocyanins, the heads turn a beautiful green when lightly cooked. Hardy and resistant to many pests, Purple of Sicily grows well even in less-than-perfect conditions.
Amazing: True to its name, Amazing cauliflower delivers dense, pure-white heads with a mild, creamy flavor. Known for its cold tolerance and dependable performance, this variety produces uniform heads ideal for fresh eating, steaming, or roasting.

Starting Seeds Indoors
Start cauliflower seeds 6-8 weeks before your last frost date. Sow seeds ¼ inch deep in a quality seed-starting mix, maintaining soil temperatures between 65–75°F for germination in 7–10 days. When seedlings develop two sets of true leaves, transplant them into larger containers to promote strong root growth.
Harden off seedlings before moving them outdoors, spacing plants 18–24 inches apart in rows 30 inches apart. Cauliflower prefers full sun, fertile soil, and consistent moisture for best results.
Direct Sowing Option
In regions with longer growing seasons, you can also direct-sow seeds outdoors 2–4 weeks before the last frost. Thin seedlings to final spacing once established.
Growing & Harvesting
